Well taken care of
Courses at the International Fire Academy and the Intercantonal Fire Service Training Centre are characterized by many practical trainings and intensive operational drills. For the participants, this means a great physical effort. That is why we attach great importance to being allround good taken care of.
Good catering and optimal fluid balance
On course days, our accommodation team in Balsthal takes care of all meals during the day. Lunch and dinner are freshly cooked. They are accompanied by a salad buffet and at lunchtime by a sweet dessert with coffee or tea.
It is important to us that all students continuously ensure sufficient fluid balance. Therefore, not only in the canteen, a wide selection of drinks is available but especially during the practical training drinking bottles with water and /or isotonic drinks.
Breakfast and our two typical Swiss breaks, the Znünipause and the Zvieripause, are also provided by our accommodation team. In the evening, the team opens the lounge after dinner until a maximum of 11 pm for our overnight guests.
Aperó in many variants
In Switzerland, enjoyment and a convivial exchange are combined at the Aperó. On request, our accommodation team will provide you with fitting small meals, snacks and drinks. It can be chosen between popular Aperó combinations, or everything can be put together individually. Information about our offers and special seasonal features can be given by the accommodation team.
Catering as desired
As an alternative to our standard meals in the canteen, organisers who use our infrastructure in Balsthal can order individual catering. From breakfast in the foyer to the Asian evening buffet, many things are possible. Food intolerances of participants can also be taken into account. Arrangements should be made early, at the latest three weeks before the date.
22 modern equipped rooms
On the campus, in the reception building (building A) there are also accommodations for students and instructors. Each of the 22 rooms offers ample storage space and is equipped with toilet and shower. To stay up to date during a multi-day course, each room is equipped with worktops and free Wi-Fi. If available, rooms can be occupied solitary at an additional cost.
Hotels in Balsthal and Lungern
If the accommodation capacity on the Balsthal campus is insufficient, as well as for our courses in Lungern, we work with hotels from the region. We are happy to reserve rooms for our students in the hotel by arrangement. In Balsthal we usually book only the overnight stay - the meeting point for breakfast is our canteen. In Lungern, the participants have breakfast in the hotel.
Exchange in the lounge
After dinner, the lounge opens for participants staying in Balsthal. Here, the experiences of the day are often discussed intensively. Whilst being served alcoholic beverages, it is the responsibility of each participant to be fit again at the beginning of the course the next morning.
Relax in the recreation room
A recreation room is available 24 hours a day at the lower level of building A. Here, during breaks or in the evening, the participants can compete with their comrades in billiards, table football, darts or one of the numerous games. TV and music system complete the offer.
